The hard way to book a casa would be to find several casas that look good and are located in your target area by checking out review sites, casa particular listings in sites or guidebooks. Do an internet search for the Casa name and visit the search related pages. Then contact the Casa either by calling or emailing directly with your dates and waiting for a response.
But Casas Particulares can be booked in a few more popular ways:
- Through Casa Particular Organizations: It’s about group of casa owners getting together to manage online reservations thru a website. If the casa you wish is not available, they will usually accommodate in a similar one that belongs to the organization.
- Casa Particular Owner Website: If you have read about any specific casa particular, you can search the Internet and it’s possible you will find a website or Facebook page owned by the landlord. However, most of the times you will not be getting a reply very soon.
- ??Online Accommodation Booking Agency: There are private agencies charging a small commission as a management fee to casas particulares for dealing with online bookings.
- Cuba Travel Guide: Popular Guidebooks, like Lonely Planet, have listings of casas particulares with the contact data allowing you to call for reservations (speaking Spanish is very recommended)
- On Foot: Casas can be easily identified by a sticker on the front door (see Casa Particular logo).
- Friend or relative recommendation: Any friend who has traveled to Cuba and stayed in a casa, will surely let you know the business card or contact info for the casa. Also friends in Cuba could help.
- Travel Agency: Not too many agencies offer this service as they prefer to specialize in hotels and the profits are really small.?? Some of them even include taylor-made trips around Cuba staying in Casas.
